Every product page has the full garment measurements in cm and inches, size by size. Measure a shirt you already own and like, then match it against ours. That is more reliable than guessing from your body measurements, and it takes two minutes. If you would rather ask, message us on WhatsApp or Instagram with your usual size and we will guide you.

Depends on the piece, so check the fit note on the product page. Our oversized shirts already carry about enough room through the bust, so taking the smaller size still reads relaxed. On the fitted pieces, take the larger one.

Garment. Every number on the chart is the finished piece measured flat, not the body it is meant to fit. The product page tells you how much room is built in on top.

Exchange it for a different size within 7 days. We collect it from you and we pay the courier.

Not for a change of mind. You can exchange it for another size, or take a credit note valid for one year. If the fault is ours, you get a full refund instead, and that is covered below.

We are a small brand and every piece is made in a short run. Credit notes let us keep making things properly rather than pricing returns into what you pay. It is a trade-off, and we would rather tell you about it before you order than after.

Not at the moment. COD adds cost to every order and a lot of returned parcels that never get opened. On the other hand, UPI takes about ten seconds.

Cotton is a natural fibre, yes. But natural is not a certified word and nobody checks it. A shirt can be one hundred percent natural cotton and still have been grown with synthetic pesticides, bleached with chlorine and finished with formaldehyde resin. Natural tells you where the fibre came from. Organic tells you what was allowed to touch it.

Same plant. The difference is how it was grown and what happened to it afterwards. Organic cotton comes from non-GM seed, grown without synthetic pesticides or synthetic fertilisers, and when it is GOTS certified those rules follow the fibre through spinning, dyeing and finishing too.

Better at what is the fairer question. Organic certification does not promise you a softer shirt or a longer lasting one. It promises that the farm used no synthetic pesticides and no GM seed, that specific chemicals were kept out of the dyeing and finishing, and that an independent body audited all of it every year. Whether that is worth paying for is a decision we would rather you make with the facts than with a slogan.

Not because of the farming. How a fabric feels comes from staple length, yarn, weave and weight. What certification changes is the finishing. Conventional cotton is often softened with chemical treatments that feel wonderful in the shop and wash out within a month. Ours has nothing sitting on it, so what you feel on the first wear is what you will still feel on the fiftieth.

Not on its own. Longevity comes from fibre length, weave density and the weight of the cloth. Organic tells you how it was grown.

The Global Organic Textile Standard. For the organic grade a fabric must be at least 95 percent certified organic fibre, and for the made with organic grade at least 70 percent. The standard governs everything after the farm as well: spinning, dyeing, finishing, packing. It bans chlorine bleach, formaldehyde and azo dyes that release carcinogenic amines, requires wastewater treatment, and sets working conditions based on ILO conventions. Every business in the chain is audited annually.

Two things mainly. It follows the fibre through the whole supply chain rather than only testing the finished cloth, and it includes social criteria, so the conditions of the people who made it are part of the certificate rather than a separate promise. Most labels do one or the other.

No, and it is worth knowing because brands often run them together into one impressive sounding phrase. GOTS certifies organic content and the entire supply chain, including labour. OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 tests the finished textile for harmful substances and says nothing about how the fibre was grown or who wove it. Different questions, different answers. Where a fabric carries both, we list them as two separate lines with two separate licence numbers.

Linen made from flax grown in the flax belt of northern Europe, where the damp maritime climate suits the crop and it grows with very little irrigation. Ours is field retted, which means the stalks are left out for the weather to break down rather than treated chemically, then processed mechanically.

Flax fibre is stiff and has almost no elasticity, so when it folds it keeps the fold. That same stiffness is why it breathes so well and outlasts almost everything else in your wardrobe. Iron it slightly damp if you want it flat. But a crease in linen is not a fault in the cloth. It is the fibre telling you what it is.

It is close to the best thing you can wear in heat. Linen carries heat away from the skin faster than cotton, absorbs moisture without feeling damp against you, and holds its shape away from the body instead of clinging to it.

Continuously, and it is the main pleasure of owning it. The stiffness in new linen comes from pectins still in the fibre, and a little of that breaks down with every wash. A linen shirt at two years is a different garment from the one you bought, and a better one.

Flax gives less usable fibre per field than cotton, retting takes weeks of weather rather than hours of processing, and separating and spinning long flax is slower and more skilled work. The cost is in time and labour, not in branding.

Khadi is handspun and handwoven. Handloom is handwoven, but the yarn may have come off a mill. The distinction is the spinning, and it is why khadi is irregular in the best sense: handspun yarn varies in thickness, so the cloth breathes and falls differently from anything a machine can make.

It is issued by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission and certifies that the cloth is genuine khadi, handspun and handwoven, rather than a mill fabric sold under the name. A great deal of what is sold as khadi in India is not, which is the reason the mark exists.

A charkha spins in a day roughly what a mill spins in a minute. You are paying for a person's time, and that is the entire point of the cloth.

A little on the first wash, because handspun yarn sits looser than mill yarn. Our garments already consider shrinkage during its construction. Cold water and drying in shade will keep it where it is.

Linen breathes better, cotton creases less, and a blend gets you most of both. But a blended cloth is harder to recycle at the end of its life than a single fibre one, and we would rather tell you that than leave it out. The blend is chosen for how the shirt wears, not to bring the cost down.

Our garments already take shrinkage into consideration, so expect very little movement. Wash cold and skip the dryer and you will not see any.

Yes. Linen creases because the fibre is stiff and holds a fold, and that is the same property that makes it breathable and hard-wearing. It softens with every wash. If you want it flatter, iron it slightly damp.

Cold wash, inside out, gentle cycle or by hand. Line dry in shade, never in direct sun. Full care instructions for each fabric are on the product page.

Certified cloth costs more than uncertified cloth, short runs cost more per piece than long ones, and the people who sewed it were paid properly. We publish the fabric, the certification and the supplier’s details on every product page so you can see where the money went.
